Community Outreach, Corporate and Social Responsibility

We believe Corporate Social Investment (CSI) is an important component of doing business. Our mission is to support community-based and regional efforts aimed at improving the quality of life of people in the areas in which we trade; to be seen internally and externally as a caring organisation.

Two long term commitments have been made to LIV Village and CAST.

LIV provides holistic residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children by placing them into a family environment with a trained foster mother to love them, a school to educate them and where all physical and emotional needs are met. Their guiding motto is: “Rescue a Child, Restore a Life, Raise a Leader and Release a Star”

CAST is the social ministry department of Westville Baptist Church and partners with other churches in poor communities to find meaningful ways to bring the gospel and social transformation to people in their neighborhoods. There are 5 ministry areas:

  • Relief

  • Counseling

  • Sport & Recreation

  • Education

  • Business Development

These programs are run in 5 communities: KwaDabeka, Durban Central, Cato Manor, Noodsberg, Lamontville

Further projects and initiatives which we have been involved in include the Sunflower Fund, schools and crèches in the Valley of 1000 Hills by virtue of our association with the 1000 Hills Community Helpers, Mbalanhle crèche, Inchanga Primary School and the Vukukhanye Community Upliftment Initiative in Chesterville.

“Best in products, price and advice.”
