Use the masking tape to seal off the areas of your tea cups that you don’t want to be painted. Create any design of your choice, for example divide the cup into two sections or create a geometric pattern by making triangles. Seal them well, so the gold paint won’t leak!
Set up the taped cups on a layer of newspaper in a well ventilated area. Start off by scrapping the area that will be painted with sand paper and then apply Dulux Supergrip All Surface Primer.
Use your Rustoleum Gold sspray paint and spray evenly, about 25 – 30 cm away, coat the cups with the gold paint. Wait for about 15-30 minutes, and apply a second coat. Once the second coat is very dry, peel off the masking tape.
Don’t rush this step as you don’t want any bleeding.
Let the gold paint dry for a few more hours more, and then evenly coat the cups with the clear glaze to seal the paint. Use several coats of the glaze in healthy doses, to make a nice smooth finish. Let the cups dry overnight, and then fill with potting soil and small plant like herb.
*Not for everyday use. During numerous washes with detergents, it will not last long.
